This one checks off just about every box. History? Try 1927 on for size. Architecture? Devereaux Emmett designed the front nine, with city engineer Robert Ross, a true man of the people, laying out the back side. Accessibility? Much like Franklin Park, Keney makes up part of a Hartford municipal park, with ballfields, walking trails, and suchforth. Playability and fun factor? This place has it in spades. Keney was fully renovated in 2016, and now sports extremely high-quality bentgrass fairways and greens, a host of exciting shots, an alternating church pew-style bunker on the 8th, and some artful green complexes. A must-play.
