A 1938 Donald Ross original, George Wright rumbles around, over, and beside a series of mounds in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood. The course was constructed as part of FDR’s Works Progress Administration, which means lots of laborers and LOTS of dynamite. Over 60,000 pounds, to be exact. This Boston muni opens with two gentle opening holes before revealing a series of exacting tests, with sidehill lies and a handful of blind shots complicating matters. After hosting the Mass Am in 2018, George Wright remains in tremendous shape and is a must-play for any golfer in the Boston area.
